What is covered conductor? It is insulated material covering bare wire that significantly reduces the possibility of the power line sparking if contact occurs with an object. We plan to install an additional 1,000 miles of covered conductor in 2021. #wildfirepreparednessweek

In an effort to reduce Public Safety Power Shutoffs, we are expediting grid hardening projects including replacing bare power lines with covered conductor. We estimate a 78% reduction in PSPS on these lines under similar weather conditions as last year. energized.edison.com/stories/sce-ex…
