Introducing the Training Academy Partnership (TAP)! Lincoln Police & SCCNeb are helping commissioned police officers TAP into their potential by earning a badge AND a degree. They'll earn credits for prior learning for completing our academy. Just one more reason to JOIN #LPD.

Introducing a new partnership between Lincoln Police and SCCNeb 🎉🧵

The partnership between Lincoln Police (LPD) and Southeast Community College (SCC) provides college credits for commissioned officers who complete LPD’s Training Academy and enroll at SCC.

Through the Training Academy Partnership (TAP), LPD Training Academy graduates can apply for up to 30 hours toward an associate of applied science degree in criminal justice.

Details of the program include: 🎓 The program is available to LPD Training Academy graduates from the past 10 years. 🎓 Graduates from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center are eligible for the program. 🎓 Officers are eligible for full tuition reimbursement.

The program requires no funding from City of Lincoln or LPD.

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is the first law enforcement agency in Nebraska to partner with SCC on this type of program.

The Training Academy Partnership (TAP) gives our officers a meaningful opportunity to invest in their career success & earn credit toward a degree. TAP is an innovative, new tool in our toolbox to recruit & retain officers & support public safety in #LNK. bit.ly/3WZh9Ow

Wrapped up our swing through Southeast Nebraska today with a visit to the SCCNeb Beatrice campus to see new student learning facilities & talk about working together to support all Nebraska students on the path to a college degree. Thank you President Paul Illich for hosting us!
