Raven reviews- Abir Mukherjee- Hunted
' A beautiful balance between pace & introspection throughout, giving us the time and space... to become completely involved in the characters, but also to stay compelled by the action'

Nope, not crime fiction - but I saw an early version of this cos Helen Newman Wood is a friend of mine and I was completely gripped by the setting, story and characters. Great fun & emotional depth - I inhaled it in one day. Check out the blog tour reviews over the next wee while ๐Ÿ‘‡

Prof John Curtice is everyone's expert as he is THE expert on polling. The Tories may have had enough of experts but the public desperately needs them - someone who can communicate the meaning in abstract data is essential. Being rude to someone tells more about you than them.

so, you know that speech meryl streep makes about ann hathaway's blue sweater in the devil wears prada? this met gala thread is an echo of that.

and if you aren't following Mr Guy, you should, he is both insanely knowledgeable and totally ๐Ÿ”ฅ on the subject of fashion

That is fab! I love finding little reminders. โค
One of these was my first year as a bookseller and John Connolly was one of the first authors I met in the store. I was a little starstruck!

Really fascinating to listen to Abir Mukherjee talk with Chris Brookmyre about new thriller Hunted at The Portobello Bookshop and wider themes of integration and othering. I reckon this will be a tremendous read.
