Just read (inhaled) this by Mark Billingham and it's as terrific as the first Declan Miller - hilarious, horrific and heartbreaking too. It's just a joy to read something that takes the crime seriously but doesn't cut out all of life's humour. (Thx so much for the gift Mary the Book fairy 🏴 !)
It’s time for YET ANOTHER incredible ChilternKills announcement. And this one’s the opportunity that’ll last BEYOND a lifetime. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our festival patron and thriller living legend Frederick Forsyth, we can now offer you the opportunity to win
Bishop brings Medici Florence alive. His sense of the ever shifting power dynamics really brings a force to this series that makes it both fascinating and intriguing. A Divine Fury by D.V. Bishop (Cesare Aldo #4) CARNIVAL OF LIES Cesare Aldo returns 26.6.25 Pan Macmillan buff.ly/3MWtay6

Mairi Kidd is launching her new novel at The Portobello Bookshop as part of PortyBookFest very soon...
I'm launching LIVING IS A PROBLEM tonight at The Portobello Bookshop - come and be entertained, why dontcha?
Just back from The Portobello Bookshop for the official launch of the latest #Skelfs novel, Living Is A Problem, by Doug Johnstone (Karen Sullivan 🇺🇦), chaired by Mary Paulson-Ellis - some deep existential chat among the humour, plus songs! Love this series, glad to hear it is continuing 🎉🖤
Last night, Doug Johnstone talked about things being thought of differently in the west as vs the east (animism, hearing voices). Michael Bennett, novelist & filmmaker spoke matter-of-factly yet movingly about matakite at Bloody Scotland. It all makes sense if you give thought to the world around us.
