I'm not a big fan of instant vulnerability culture. I'd like to choose who I wish to be vulnerable with and when. There's this cultural notion that immediately telling complete strangers everything that has ever happened to you is so wonderful. Manufactured intimacy is not real.

This shouldn't even have to be said, but University policies should uniformly encourage respectful disagreement, finding common humanity, challenging one's own assumptions, and thinking critically-- actively discouraging division and hate based on ideology and social identity.

Fun fact: Emotional intelligence, verbal intelligence, and visual-spatial intelligence are all subfactors of general intelligence. Any cognitive skill that involves working memory and reasoning will draw, at least in part, on general intellectual functions.
