Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring! Annie with calf was again out only Save the Manatee Club adoptee today. She and the calf had 30 other manatees for company. The river temp was 69.3F (20.7C) Here is a photo of adoptee Lily taken by one of our volunteers yesterday!

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring! The river warmed up to 70F (21.1C) and the manatee count dropped down to 17, which wasn’t surprising. Most manatees were located close to the river. The 2 adoptees seen today were Lily and Annie w/calf.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring! Annie was the only adoptee in again today. Annie does go out in the evening to feed in the river she is not in 24/7. 13 other manatees were in for roll call as well. The river temp was 71.6F (22C).

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring! The river temp had dropped to 67.3F (19.6C). The wind was very bad. 60 manatees were counted. Adoptees Annie and calf and Lily were there.

It's a fact! Although manatees are big, they have very little body fat. A large percentage of the manatee’s body is taken up by the gastrointestinal tract, which contains the stomach and intestines. savethemanatee.org/facts

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring! The river had dropped to 63.3F (17.4C) and 194 manatees were counted. The water was extremely murky making it impossible to see the manatees. The adoptees in today were Annie and her baby, Ester, Una, and Moo Shoo (pic here).
