Convoys Wharf in Deptford. The site Boris Johnson called in to "speed up building" 11 years ago. Years on and nothing built despite outline approval back then for 3,500 homes and subsequent approval for reserved matters and detailed plans at certain plots.

Unless its just power that you seek I don't understand why you'd become a labour councillor. I also don't understand why the average resident would vote labour when their cllr can't represent their community. Well done to Ivis and her principles! greenwichwire.co.uk/2025/05/09/lab…

Jules Pipe Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan What a choice of venue: this Kidbrooke Village replaced the Ferrier Estate with a net loss of 1574 social homes (Elmer). We are promised more of this.

Berkeley has slashed the affordable homes in its Ayelsham Centre redevelopment plan from 270 (35%) to just 77 (12%). Now it is bypassing the planning committee & hoping @angelarayner won't have the nerve to stand up for local people instead of their profit. Outrageous.

In the end I am saying that land has value because the commonwealth grants someone rights. Right now we are giving away trillions in new value through new density rights and getting nothing in return. Full stop. 🛑

Without abolishing leasehold, mass adoption of flat & apartment living will fail in England and Wales. Currently seen as a stepping stone to owning a house, due to the predatory leasehold system and lack of control over one’s own home. The best policy in the Labour Party

There are 4.83mn residential long leaseholds in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 1 in 5 homes, paid for but not owned by their residents. Millions diligently paying down a mortgage for a property they’ll never own. The freehold-leasehold system in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 must be replaced by freehold-commonhold asap

We have a cartel of banks and landowners in this country which basically dictate things to be weighted in their favour. And the reality is they exert more power than our elected officials #leasehold

2 Weeks elapsed (out of 6) for us all to prepare responses to the Mayor of London's paper Towards a new #LondonPlan. How is it for you? For us, see JustSpace.org.uk/towards Do you just see it as more of the same?

"Today, two-bedroom apartments in Elephant Park are on sale for between £900,000 and £1m, and of the 2,704 new homes, only 82 are for social housing." Not even #councilhousing The destruction of the Heygate Estate and Elephant Shopping Centre has cleansed the area of our people.

This is a very serious issue, which is going to be repeated around the country as the Building Safety Regulator's review of safety cases start coming through. Those impacted must have their rights respected news.sky.com/story/hundreds…

Could this be the end of Footpath 47!? "Following completion of the works and subject to the necessary approvals, Footpath 47 will be diverted back along the foreshore" Only if the necessary approvals go through.

Guarantees will be needed about footpath 47 before works begin. Clear timelines Clear conditions Clear bans on diverting the path away from the shoreline. Residents of LBBD have been ignored by the planning function for far too long.

How's this for terrible optics for Labour and new council homes: Labour-run Greenwich Council are to cut all council homes in development behind new leisure centre in Woolwich - with a Labour govt now in power. It's in Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook MP own constituency
