Been thinking a lot about the JK Rowling thing and I think we should continue talking about police violence and Black Lives Matter.

This is a very cool and long overdue thing.

I would challenge each of the 150 signatories, even the trans woman, to look around their workplaces and count the number of trans people (or Black people ftm) employed there, much less in a position of power. If you truly believe in free speech, you would see an issue there.

Hot tip for nyt employees: if you have permissions it is not hard to change names in scoop. I've seen it done in <5 secs (yes there will be record of its update). Imagine if those who think of themselves as allies simply...updated the names. Would you lose that much if you did?
