A 13-year study of a dozen cities found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for ALL users of the road. As for painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. And for sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them. Via Streetsblog USA usa.streetsblog.org/2019/05/29/pro…

“62% of #Copenhagen residents are now commuting to work or school by bike — an increase from 52% in 2015 & 36% in 2012, when the City Council launched a 14-year-plan...there are more bikes (675,000) than people & 5X as many bikes as cars.” Via Los Angeles Times: latimes.com/world-nation/s…

Being a woman: my "outside" day finishes at sundown. If I haven't taken the dog for a walk/jogged by then, I can't. In the winter, it often means the choice between exercise and work. Today, I had to stop work at 4 to exercise. My husband worked until 6, and is now off for a run.
