Revenue Service just updated guidance on Section 67 on anti-avoidance provisions relating to non-commercial shareholder loans and personal investment companies. This addresses the main concern raised by many candidates about closing " Income Tax loopholes" before introducing GST.

In addition to the Statement of Practice M45 guidance, P&R also approved a proposal to amend the Income Tax (Guernsey) Law, 1978, so that repayments of non-commercial shareholder loans are classed as dividends, with the intention that this will be included in the 2026 Budget.
