I meet and talk to so many people who believe that ALL school librarians do is check out books and put them back once kids return them. Here is just SOME of what they ACTUALLY do. And not on this list: foster a lifelong love of reading. And what could be more important than that?

Updated at 11:11pm A worldwide IT outage today has affected banks, communication systems and payment services in New Zealand. This was caused by a software update by cyber security provider Crowdstrike. A patch has been issued and organisations are working through applying it.
