The proactive work of our officers led to a number of arrests yesterday. Two suspected bag thieves were arrested in connection with theft, after plain-clothed officers spotted the pair acting suspiciously at licensed premises.

After making the arrests on the bag thieves, an officer saw a man, aged 40, acting suspiciously, heading into a shop on Moorgate. The man came out of the shop with a bag full of items that wasn’t paid for. The suspected shoplifter was arrested for one count of theft.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for possession with intent to supply cocaine. Officers spotted the man on Eastcheap, suspected of making an exchange, and following a search, drugs were found on him.
