In our culminating students use ten frames to work on writing their names, recognize letters & how to structure it. Students use one to one correspondence & count letters to fill in the blank while investigating concepts of quantity & number's position in the counting sequence.

In this minds on, students investigate three-dimensional figures while considering classifying and describing how objects can be collected, grouped, and organized according to similarities and differences such as size and colour.

Exciting to see the students take initiative in practicing mindfulness & self-reg. Students demonstrate ability to manage their own energy states, emotions, behaviours, & attention in ways that are socially acceptable & help achieve positive goals such as positive relationships.

What a fun mixed media art project with my Kindergarteners. We read How to Catch a Star and made our own water colour creations using tin foil ⭐

This was my favorite project with my Kindergarteners. A combination of language, art, media literacy and social emotional development within this project as we explored The Best Part of Me while boosting our self confidence!

Fun process art project in Grade 7 with Amy Mitchell where they used bubble wrap to create the technicolor tree leaves, added details into the birch bark trunk and paint splatters for falling snow in the night landscape🎨

Wow grade 7's learned alot throughout this unit! In our culminating task students described and preformed translations, reflections and rotations on a Cartesian plane while using the elements & principles of design in art to communicate their ideas in these barn quilt tiles!

My grade 7 placement has been lots of fun, especially as we've been working with substances & mixtures in our new science unit. Right now students are using scientific inquiry skills to investigate the observational properties of household substances using their 5 senses!

Students compleated their culminating task in our substances health unit while creating a 2 page spread. Here we made connections to mental health & body image, addiction & resources for help. All while implementing a wide variety of text features including purpose & location.

Pure substances and mixtures fun with our final lesson with Miss. Layton making ice cream- there was some pop up parental chocolate chip thieves...but it was tons of fun Masonville PS
