It is interesting to learn about ow the sacrifice was so normal many years ago. I couldn't imagine getting a dog or any type of animal just to groom it so it can be sent to be slaughtered. #eng101

In Act 1 they describe the use of dogs in the military and after their tour is over they are usually euthanized. Interestingly enough now military dogs are usually adopted by their trainers. It is eye opening to see how much we value our pets as opposed to back then. #eng101

In Talk American the narrators use lists of adjectives to interact with and get the audience to think about how they judge other peoples different accents. I notice from listening to this that even people who live in southern Illinois have different accents than I do. #eng101

When reading "Welcome to Happy Valley" Khor describes the way one would email a professor. In language you are able to manipulate your words to best suit your needs and to captivate your audience, which is essentially what Khor is depicting in her article.

#ENG101 In S town the reader is drawn into the story through the way John speaks about his town. He uses specific diction like swear words to make it evident how much he despises the town.

in S town it was particularly interesting that the speaker switch between talking about the sheriff who rapes the girls he pulls over and the boy who got away with a murder. It puts an emphasis and calls our attention to the corruption within a society #ENG101

With better access to environmental and social changes, people with disabilities would be able to chance their "disabled" label to an "able" label. Disability is what the person makes of it and their social and culture around them do to benefit them. #ENG101

Is a disability really something that hinders a persons quality of life? Or is disability a social construct created by the "able bodies" who don't have the challenges that some individuals may have? #ENG101

The food the prisoners made formed community in the prison. They each had people with different jobs and different food that they had to out together to create their dishes. This conveys that although each inmate ran with a crowd of their own race, they could come together #Eng101

While creating & thinking about my podcast I didnt consider that most of the podcast consists of writing my thoughts out and outlining what I am going to do and how Im going to create it. Writing and planning really helps to set a standard for the podcast we are creating. #ENG101

when she states “how does it feel to take a foreign language for fun” it emphasizes that a lot of people dont realize that when they are taking a language that it encompasses a whole culture and some people can be very disrespectful to that culture #ENG101

sarahscheer (@sarahscheer3) 's Twitter Profile Photo

this also brings up the question that if Americans were taught how almost every child in other countries are, which is them learing multiple languages, if we would be as ignorant as we are now to many cultures #ENG101

The speaker in my Ted Talk was one sided towards the one that he believed was right and he only had specific information to strengthen his argument of how school shouldn't just be strictly enforcing math, language, and science. #ENG101

The speaker showed he was knowledgeable in his topic, he was one sided because he only brought up the detrimental effects of cutting out the arts in school. He talked about his time as a professor and about a friend that he knew who is a dancer who wasn't fit for school. #ENG101

When researching the history of news articles it was hard to find a history or an origin but I instead looked up journalism since it was the most similar. The first reported newspaper is 1605 made in Germany. Before then it was translated through word of mouth or scribes. #eng101

When trying to made my article I realized that I am really inept at making webpages or trying to post it as a digital essay. The easy part is going to be the information especially being able to use headings like an article usually has to break up the information. #eng101

I think it is interesting to note that she would post a selfie but then the caption would be a put down towards her appearance, even though a selfie is posted when you feel confident. I think that this is a normal element to a post because ive seen many people do this. #ENG101

A lot of the things that we post on social media correlate with the emotions that we are feeling at that point in time. Like posting a college dorm picture because we are excited for a new chapter in our lives. #ENG101

I think that it was interesting how writing on the floor was what helped her write and what felt the most comfortable to her. I believe this shows that the way in which we write and what we produce as writers is shaped a lot by our surroundings and things we interact with #ENG101

I think that if Coletta wanted to she wouldve been able to talk about the learning outcome of cultures and communities. In different cultures floor sitting is normal and how this connects her writing to kids around the world that write in the same way that she prefers #ENG101
