A hill on which I will die: Teenagers should be able to read what they want to read, and they should be able to make those choices based on accurate cataloging and shelving.

“This library actually has good books!” Exaltation from a newly transferred-in gr 8 student who has been reading in the library at every opportunity this week. FYI they pointed directly at the Stephen King books. We Need Diverse Books is what all school libraries need!#freedomtoread

Things that legislators should pay more attention to in education. No consultant or guest speaker should get paid more per hour by a district than the highest paid teacher in district gets paid per hour 💫 (So $5,000/hr consultant fees, for example, are no more)

Best lecture I’ve possibly ever heard on the importance of libraries & librarians in the safeguarding of knowledge throughout history - should be required listening for school boards & city councils #proudtobealibrarian #supportlibraries #freedomtoread open.spotify.com/episode/0v0nGL…
