This is just insane. The former director of a key public safety agency said she was ordered to not look into DC employees being paid without working, to deny public information requests as retribution, and to share false data with the DC Council.

DC already has a felony theft penalty enhancement for anyone convicted of theft 2 or more times with a sentence of 1-15 years in prison. But USAO fails to prosecute 50% of these repeat offenses. DC does not need "tougher laws." We just need to enforce the laws we already have.
