Tonight at 6 on News 5 Cleveland - come w/ me & photographer Mike Harris as we visit beautiful Erie County, Ohio in the great City of Sandusky for an update on the historic SanduskyStateTheatre. It’s been closed since severe weather badly damaged the structure in June of 2020.

This is inside the SanduskyStateTheatre built in 1928- turns 95 this fall. The GM says it’s too soon to set a grand reopening date just yet, but they’re working to reopen ASAP while getting it done right. When they do, he says it’ll be more like a week-long celebration w/ community.

We pulled back the curtain on our work at the SanduskyStateTheatre in downtown Sandusky, and invited students from VSCTC to take a sneak peek. The rebuild & expansion has been progressing nicely, and we can't wait for its debut! Stay tuned for updates.

Director Chris Parthemore and Board President kimberlyredfern are attending the Shores & Islands Ohio Annual Meeting to support their important mission. Once reopened, the theater will contribute as a year-round driver of regional tourism.

We toured the SanduskyStateTheatre yesterday and just wow! 🤩 Our 1928 vaudeville theatre is seeing many nods to its historic past, but it is being built with the versatility and vision for next 100 years.
