The first fire was lit in Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways's latest new-build 0-4-4-0 Double Fairlie, No. 8 "James Spooner", today. This will be the eighth Double Fairlie to run on the railway and is the fifth built entirely at Boston Lodge Works. πŸ“· Ffestiniog Railway

Santa Fe U28CG #353 is stopped at Chanute, Kansas with the northbound Tulsan, circa 1968. This train provided direct service from Chicago to Tulsa, Oklahoma via Kansas City. Service ended on April 30, 1971. american-rails.com/tulsan.html

Rebuilt July 1981 by Hunslet Holdings, Austerity S134 was a test bed for single manning with an underfeed stoker, settling in at Wheldale for trials. Come that December, heavy blizzards blocked the ECML & M1, freezing up Wheldale's diesels - so S134 was the only engine available!
