I can't think of a better start to the weekend than the email I just received from a student saying they 'appreciate me so much' for all of my help. We don't take enough time to take in these moments. My mentor taught me to file my achievements & use them to perk me up - try it!

My FYP student travelled all the way back to campus this afternoon to bring me a gift. To say I'm touched is an understatement. I love my job! 🥰

I love my job! Yesterday some students told me (unprompted) they’re really enjoying my teaching, because I speak slowly and clearly and make things interesting. Today a student asked me to be their PhD supervisor next year (minor detail of needing to pass my own first though…)

First time teaching in the Wright lecture theatre but I like it

Most random, fun seminar today. Only 1 student eventually turned up but we had a lovely intellectual discussion session. We also had a surprise visit from Pikachu! Beat that staff student ratio…… 😆

I’ve just run my first focus group for my current mixed methods study, investigating how students experience the transition to university. Had a very lovely chat with students. Feeling grateful to the students for taking time out of their day to chat with me AstonPsychology

What a fab day launching my career- focussed module. Students were engaged and I was delighted that two students that had previously requested transfers to other modules have now decided to stay with my module. I love the start of term, especially as I get to meet new cohorts
