Interesting microscale low moving inland off of Lake Ontario earlier this morning. Brockport NYS Mesonet at UAlbany site showed SW to NW wind direction shift right around 545am, accompanied by a surge in wind speed and pressure rise.

3.2” of fresh snow overnight at Strong/Collegetown in Roc NWS Buffalo

Incredibly fun and exciting time at the 50th Northeastern Storm Conference in Albany, with Steven Perez and Met Instruments Project feat. QDAWS #NESC2025

Huge thanks and much eternal gratitude to Quinton Met Instruments Project for helping re-stabilize my weather station and future-proofing it. Worked for 9 hours straight plus 3 trips to Home Depot & Lowes! Another shoutout to Keith Garrett for advice on how to stabilize it!

We now have two #RMYoung wind monitors up on the roof for testing. The reference wind monitor (right prop) is an AQ-model converted to the standard 05103-model housing & tail, which is what we use at NYS Mesonet at UAlbany sites.

Apparently saw a wall cloud on a very weak cell driving north on I-390 down near Lakeville/Avon NWS Buffalo

Added a Pluvio2 rain gauge to my setup. It was pulled from a NYS Mesonet at UAlbany site due to false precip, but has been tested and passed the accuracy test with a 0.001” deviation. Will compare it with the tipping bucket for real-time precip QA/QC.
