I’ve been getting a lot of questions from my non-Black friends about how to be a better ally to Black people. I suggest unlearning and relearning through literature as just one good jumping off point, and have broken up my anti-racist reading list into sections:

Ms. Snogren’s 3rd graders are learning about comparing fractions. They tossed bean bags on a giant number line to compare fraction distance from zero. Then, they drew their own number lines to practice comparing fraction size. #HandsOnLearning #MathIsFun

If i was Governor for a day, the first thing i would do is give teachers a raise and honor them for being a teacher! Teachers understand We over ME! everyone remembers a teacher or a coach who impacted their lives!

Through our new CKLA reading curriculum, 4th graders have been learning about life during the Middle Ages. As an extension of their reading, they got to make a unique coat of arms, knight masks and stained glass windows.

My mom and brothers have had to live with this for 29 years. They’ve tried to heal for 29 years… and they weren’t even considered. So proud of my mom for taking the pen back to HER OWN STORY.
