Shaun Lintern Wes Streeting MP Interesting how so many commentators have quickly forgotten that the NHS ran on β€˜goodwill’. This common knowledge has been erased from any discussion on NHS productivity. Productivity has suffered as goodwill evaporated & experienced (highly productive) staff fall as % of workers

I cant believe Twitter is having an actual debate about whether it's okay for doctors to introduce themselves as Doctors whilst they are at work. Firstly, of course it is. Secondly, are you all okay?

Interesting I can't really wrangle a news story out of this, and i clearly won't get any on record quotes so i will just post it on line I FOI'd NHS England to ask them about the decision made a few months back to end access to NHS Practitioner Health which has helped so many doctors

I have lost 2 close HCW friends to suicide, I think part of the prevention strategy needs to prioritise improving working conditions and insist on #civility as non-negotiable in healthcare settings

We're looking forward to joining Royal College of Emergency Medicine tomorrow to talk about staff wellbeing & strategies to support workers at their online event. Raising the profile of the mental health of staff in emergency roles is so important. We're grateful for the opportunity to add to this session

On #InternationalDayOfCharity, we're proud to say we've offered countless frontline workers free, confidential counselling & support over the past 4 years. With 1 in 3 NHS workers having experienced mental ill health and 1 in 4 having considered suicide, our services are sadly

Since we founded in 2020, Frontline19 has provided free counselling & psychological support to over a million NHS and frontline workers. Every life lost to suicide is an avoidable tragedy. A shocking 1 in 4 NHS workers have considered suicide, this situation cannot go on.

Five years ago I had suicidal ideation due to repeated sleep deprivation. I was a resident working long hours, including 28-hour calls. Sleep deprivation is an independent risk factor for suicide. Any discussion about physician wellness is wholly inadequate if it excludes sleep.
