You are right to identify the English language as the biggest barrier to the chances of progress of a young person. Rather than being a language of access it denies access. The English speaking 'elite' ensure the exclusion of the great bulk of Pakistanis from the realm of hope.

I dont know what to say to people who are willing to look away from Dr Riaz's abduction if it prevents PTI from gaining seats through the court. How does one explain that IK is not the issue when someone is abducted? Principles must take over, but apparently not for many.

Dr Riaz says it all. In order to stand for basic principles you dont see who is being benefitted. Some principles are too sacred to bow before the desires of the Estab. Dr Riaz took a stand not because he is a PTI supporter, but because it was decent to do so. Few like him.

LUMS has a program called National Outreach where they send a team around non-urbanised areas looking for underprivileged bright students to offer admissions & scholarships into LUMS. I volunteered with them for 6 months in my early 20’s. 95% of those bright kids don’t qualify
