Congratulations to our newest full-time police officer, Chip Hank! Officer Hank has served our department in a part-time capacity for several years and is now joining us full-time. Officer Hank is pictured being sworn in by Salem City Council President Sara Baronzzi.

In response to recent security threats both nationally and in the Mahoning Valley, we have met with Salem City Schools to review and strengthen safety protocols for all athletic events. The safety of our players, coaches, officials, and fans remains our highest priority.

Today the Salem Police Department assisted the Columbiana County Drug Task Force with a search warrant at 1158 Unit C. Officers recovered a large quantity of methamphetamine along with materials commonly used in the trafficking of narcotics. This investigation remains ongoing.
