In the 1990s, America had 51 major contractors bidding for defense work. Today, there are only five massive companies remaining. Defense contracting should be reworked to break up the massive contracts awarded to the big guys and create opportunities for firms of all sizes.

As a real Muslim attorney who came out of law school during the Great Recession, yeah, I left all this stuff off of my resume. It's an ugly world out there and unfortunately we all have to live in it.

Our troops do not need to be in Syria, or any other country where the local government has not invited their presence. Foreign occupations and incursions into sovereign countries don't end well for our country and we need to learn that lesson and stop.

As a lawyer, it is absolutely shocking to read that US law (spending bill just passed) makes aid conditional on NOT cooperating with or exercising rights to petition the International Criminal Court. Diametrically opposed to any concept of fair application of the Rule of Law.
