saw some nervous faces on the road before staring their o level exams. Hope we’ve told them enough that this exam or any exam do not determine their course of life.

Spent three hours away from my phone for a meeting tonight, came back to see THIS. So proud of young people for standing up against injustice ❤️❤️

Nothing is by coincidence. Today marked 8 years since Yameen’s brutal murder. Yet in 2025 the nation still grieves from broken systems, injustice and unequal treatment. Whilst a girl fights for her life those that yield power gets away with impunity.

0 accountability for the delayed justice while victim blaming. Victim blaming has also been one of the major hurdles for cases of violence against women. The president pushing this propaganda means we are moving back on even the slightest progress we’ve made over the years.

it's ironic - is it not? - that young people protesting against apparent injustices are seen as a bigger problem than the corruption and embezzlement of state funds. such fun times we live in

Oh and while we are at it: Huge congratulations to MDP Secretariat for blundering the most clear cut opportunity that we have ever had to repeal restrictions on freedom of assembly (Talking about the 2019-2024 supermajority that pledged to do this and backpedaled when in power).

Whenever there’s a child abuse case of an adolescent often the narrative is “eyna ulhenee aslu bodu meeheh hen” or when it’s a child it’s “baaligu veema ei anheneh”. Now the govt is validating these ideas and further decreasing the age limit to grade 4. It stems from that.

what an auspicious day for our President to solidify the existing xenophobia. Mans on a mission to backfire any to little progress we’ve had over the years. #InternationalMigrantsDay
