'I was forever buying new books, faster, admittedly, than I could read them. But as long as they surrounded me they stood as guarantors of an extended life, far more precious and necessary than the one I was forced to lead daily.'

THE DANGLING MAN, Saul Bellow.

List of favorite top ten 'classic' science books. All communicate profound, mind-expanding ideas, often in profound prose. Many are multidisciplinary; some touch deeply on history, philosophy and society. All give repeated reading pleasure, revealing something new each time.

Some of my favorite books are also the biggest and messiest ones. So thankful for the publishers who take risks to publish “the great, imperfect, torrential works, books that blaze a path into the unknown.” Here are some that I’d like to read over the next few years (decades?)

9 years ago, I embarked on the entrepreneurship train after dropping out of engineering. 7 months into the journey, I realized I wasn't ready & switched to a full-time job. But now, I'm back at it again because it feels right. Can you spare 2.5 mins to fill this survey? Link 👇🏽

HOW COOL IS THIS?! Scientists have discovered a new way to destroy cancer cells. By stimulating aminocyanine molecules with near-infrared light, cancer cells vibrate in sync, enough to break apart their membranes. These “molecular jackhammers” DESTROYED 99% of cancer cells! 🧵⬇️

Why not start 2024 with a good bit of pathos?

Any good tips on taking care of books in a humid place like Mumbai? I tried a dehumidifier (Absorbia) and it works but if it leaks then it completely messes up books forever. Trying a tedious option now of wrapping up my books in plastic. All ideas welcome!
