I’ve lived in Phoenix for 4 years & tonight biking along the Rio Salado, I pedaled into an alternate universe….The Rio Salado through Phx is an actual river, flowing bank to bank after last night’s epic rains! Egrets. Herons. Cormorants. Life taking in an ephemeral moment.

Today begins the 3-day process of @npr layoffs: 10% of the staff. Such a very sad moment in the organization's proud history. I've been speaking with folks whose names you know well... and many whose names you don't. So much talent will be shown the door: A huge loss for America.
