The Medical HumanFactors team enjoyed another lunch & learn from one of our own today, “Why OTs are Sleeper Human Factors Experts” by Lucy Stein MS OTR/L CAPS. We learned that OTs also embody our central HF tenet - We don’t redesign humans, we redesign the system within which humans work!

Why did I wear a hospital gown on stage at #JPM20 which is 99% suits? To highlight the power imbalance between decision-makers & end-users. Patients are often stripped of agency, & blamed when they don’t “comply.” Let’s remember who is not represented at the meeting. #askpatients
