It was such a privilege to have been on the panel for Birthrights National Inquiry into Racial Injustice in Maternity Care and it was great to finally be in the same room as so many amazingly passionate women all working to improve maternal outcomes.

They didn’t resign over Covid deaths. They didn’t resign over benefit cuts. They didn’t resign over Partygate. They didn’t resign over PPE. They didn’t resign over Brexit failure. They didn’t resign over deporting refugees. Spare us the praise for the ‘good’ Tories.

If you believe a group of workers shouldn't take strike action because they are vital to the running of the country then, by that same logic, you should support them when they demand better than real-terms pay cuts so they don't have to resort to strike action in the first place.
