Far too familiar, and seemingly inevitable under President Muizzu. An utter shame to see the steep decline in respect for the rule of law and a reversal of the democratic gains Maldivians fought so hard for.

This wasn’t a demonstration of commitment to press freedom. It was a spectacle that revealed deep disrespect for journalists and the dignity of the presidency.
