This is going to be THE FPGA Conference! Keep the 7th October 2025 free it will be the inaugural UK FPGA conference, held at the Pullman Hotel in London. Website will be up very soon, and sponsors are signing up. Call for speakers will be coming in the near future as well.

Computers like this exist, but adoption is low due to poor FPGA software, proprietary, vendor-specific tools, circuit synthesis with intractable problems causing long compile times and requiring super cracked electronics folks for anything practical.

Update: We now have in-memory 2-Phase Commit working! Needs more work wrt failure detection and persistence + a well-defined rollback path, but here are the core mechanics on the write path, including a demo of a simulated crash on one of the clients. Happy transactions!

We would like to thank Nithin Kamath for the $100k donation to FFmpeg (pending)! While this does not solve the funding problems behind FFmpeg and Open Source in general, it's a step forward to a sustainable future for Open Source Software.
