Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by canned curriculum, new programs, or initiatives. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job satisfaction soars, & teachers are most effective!

I interviewed a candidate for an asst. principal position last week. He had experience in the classroom, knew his data, admin internship, certs... He said he was in the AP pool in four districts, but no principal gave him a chance. Well, that all changes July 1st! #liftasyouclimb

Principals, you don’t have to know it all. In fact your job is easier when you realize that you are surrounded with staff that may be smarter than you in some areas. Draw on their strengths. That shows you value them, but it also shows that you are a confident leader.

Had the privilege of attending the #IBUni2023 Conference by the International Baccalaureate. So many valuable sessions and gems found in each one of them. Still watching many recorded sessions and learning more and more each time. Hope this conference continues in this format next year.

As I reflect on we the last few days at the #IBGC2023 I feel the biggest quote that summerizes the conference is that “the greatest way to have great academic outcomes is to stop focusing on academic outcomes.” It’s time to ensure balance and relationships are values in schools.

The most enjoyable aspects of my job is guiding students in choosing the courses they will take as they transition into our school's IB Diploma Programme. Being a part of this process allows us to learn more about our students passions, interests, and future careers goals. #IBDP
