Why do people make promises they have no intention of keeping?

You don’t get rewarded for not taking care of yourself, and putting yourself last. You don’t win a prize for being the most miserable.

Reported a crime to the cops… a clear case of fraud… and was told by the cop that he would do a “courtesy filing” for me… but he wasn’t sure they (the police) were actually going to, yunno, investigate and try to catch the criminal. How was your day?
