It is inspiring to see so many authors and translators withdraw their work, pledge their prize money, or make a statement in solidarity—and *infuriating* that they should have to do so instead of rightfully celebrating, and being celebrated for, their accomplishments PEN America

very frustrating when you know that a press that gets a lot of acclaim/prizes for publishing great work behaves incredibly badly behind the scenes towards its translators 😤

Reminder that, while many small presses do good and important work, small isn’t necessarily synonymous with ethical, or better treatment for workers/translators, or really better practice in any way!
