Also shout out to Zumrat Usmanova, who did the entire work. Zumrat Usmanova is the recent recipient of 2024 best lightening talk award from NEW.Mech and 2025 Peebles Award from the The Adhesion Society . She will give the talk soon in the The Adhesion Society annual meeting on February 17.

I am excited to share that my group received the prestigious NSF Faculty Early Career Award (CAREER) #NSFfunded U.S. National Science Foundation. This marks a milestone in my research career as it is my first federal grant. We will work on "Modular Design of Bioadhesives for Implantation", aiming to

Another enjoyable year with The Adhesion Society . Zumrat Usmanova won the Alan Gent Distinguished Student Paper Award (2nd place) from an excellent and highly competitive cohort. As a long-time Gent disciple, I share a lot of honor and excitement with my student. Way to go!

Thank Shaoting Lin for the tremendous effort. This will be a great event for our academic and industrial colleagues and our students. We also look forward to continuing this momentum in the following years. Such broader impacts would never happen without the support from U.S. National Science Foundation.

Thanks so much to my friend Taylor Sparks and his awesome Materialism Podcast podcast for having me! It was so fun spending time together & talking about #biomatter and some ways of turning it into #bioplastics! 🔊youtu.be/rRXc854tcZU?si… open.spotify.com/episode/5NwE4f… #sustainability

My collaborator Shaoting Lin and I are grateful to NSF and our Program Directors at the MoMS program for their continuous support for fundamental science. I want to send my highest respect and best wishes to all our unsung heroes at U.S. National Science Foundation during this special time.

I will give an invited talk on "Extremely tough networks: from polymers to metamaterials" American Physical Society conference tomorrow, Mar 20.

Thank you EML Webinar for featuring our recent effort. I owe a great lot to U.S. National Science Foundation, the mechanics community, mentors, colleagues, Northeastern COE, students, and family. We are committed to serving the community, society, and advancing the fundamental science.

Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) is extremely excited to announce the appointment of Professor Xuanhe Zhao (Xuanhe Zhao) of MIT as co-Editor-in-Chief of EML. Professor Zhao is a world renowned expert in mechanics of materials and soft robotics.

Congratulations to Zumrat Usmanova again! 🎉 She is studying fracture mechanics of architected materials and adhesives. What a beautiful topic!
