Found this modified Spike Ball game for 3-5 called King/Queen of the Court! The King/Queen serves the ball, the game continues until a student misses the ball, double hit, or doesn’t hit the ball inside the hoop. Great instructional video I found here: youtu.be/8yrNiNVHLTU

Cone Air Hockey! 🏒🥅 Phone warmup game that can be incorporated into a ladder system to provide that competitive element. Same concept can work outdoors with balls being rolled too.

Played “MY NAME IS… as a mixer today with 1st Grade. Substitute Rock, paper, scissors with “my name is.” “Shoot” is substituted by the student’s name. I played along and learned everyone’s name. #physed.

📣The Spirit Stick📣 Ss are working on catching in #physed today. Partner in front will throw Spirit Stick (noodle) in the air. Partner in back will run to catch before it hits the ground. Start over if stick hits hits the floor.

This is my "Why" and one of my favorite #physed quotes. It is our job to do everything in our power to turn kids on to movement and to help them experience success at their own individual, developmental level. You (and the job you do) make a difference!

The early years are a uniquely consensual period of human development during which we as adults hold the power to promote (or hinder) children’s long term success through the interactions and experiences we provide. Let’s get it right. Happy Week of the Young Child! #WOYC23
