Two years ago, Danyal & I wondered: Could the various features we observe in brains across species be caused by shared functional, structural & energetic constraints? 🧠⚡️ With our now published spatially embedded RNNs we show this is true! 🧵below! nature.com/articles/s4225…

*New paper* Thrilled this is out! Kudos to Danyal & Jascha Achterberg who lead this fab project. Spatially-embedded RNNs: artificial networks that develop global and local brain-like properties (e.g. modularity, mixed selectivity) when they experience simple local constraints.

Read the new exciting work of ⭐️Emiel Cracco ⭐️ on the visual perception of motion in groups of people. We show that what matters to see individuals as a group is the synchrony of their motion and not so much whether they are headed in the same direction Institut des Sciences Cognitives - Marc Jeannerod CNRS 🌍 Université Lyon 1

Recent headlines suggest #screens harm #sleep & #mentalHealth in #youngPeople, especially girls. Yet, our latest research shows that #socialMedia use or pre-sleep screen time barely links to teen mental health when risky online behaviors are considered: link.springer.com/article/10.100…
