Here's a quick midweek weather update: Momentary dry weather today turns wet tomorrow afternoon- but rebounds to drier conditions Friday. All indications point only one more chance of rain (Saturday) into next week. A longer drying trend is looking more likely for next week.

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEK! The sunny streak continues! Might not be as warm... but all the summer 'feels' continue today. Next Up? No major shift until clouds and sprinkles this weekend. It's not a washout- but will be much cooler and slightly damp on Saturday and Easter Sunday.

EASTER COOL-DOWN: Cooler weather ahead soon- after another fabulous sunny afternoon today! Morning clouds tomorrow may produce a few sprinkles- but our best chance of measurable light rain is Easter morning and afternoon. Enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter!

NEXT FOUR DAYS: If we hit 80 degrees today, we'll tie the high temperature record for this date! (record high Apr. 24, 2018) Clouds move in overnight, along w/ a chance of sprinkles. However, most showers/t-storms will stay mainly south and east of our viewing area this weekend.

What a pretty shot from Warrenton, OR. and a CHILLY morning around the coast. A Frost Advisory expires soon there-- as well as spots in the region. However, it's all sunshine this afternoon for Cinco De Mayo! Warmer and dry weather will be the norm this week. No major changes.

Good Morning! As you plan your upcoming weekend, expect showers to resume on Mother's Day. Highest probability of rain is in the afternoon and evening- but some forecast info indicates showers may start as early as overnight Saturday. Monday looks like the wettest day.

Good Morning! Cooler days and an ongoing chance of showers continues in the region. Some days are looking dry to mainly dry...while others stand out as 'wetter' days. However, I'm not anticipating thunderstorm-type downpours/hail like yesterday afternoon.🌧

Haven't seen our little friend Owl Pacino in a while-- but he was back EARLY this morning. We'll end the week with a great afternoon to 'perch' outside. (low 70s in the valley) The weekend forecast still looks warmer than normal! Rose Festial events kick off under sunny skies.

ON PATROL: I captured this photo of a couple of hawks surveying the vineyards at Stoller Family Estates. Skies are generally overcast w/ some some sprinkles passing through this morning. The afternoon will be drier and partly cloudy. Rest of the week? MUCH warmer and mainly dry!

Already a clear & beautiful morning out there! It's also WARMER than normal a.m. temps this time of year. It's 70 degrees in Troutdale and Gresham at this early hour! Why? strong east wind gusts are keeping their temperatures from dropping before sunrise- like the rest of us.

Captured by the AlertWest camera network, timelapse in S.E. Oregon of clouds forming t-storms (2 different angles). Lightning equipment has already recorded more than 1000 lightning strikes since last night southwest of Burns. Similar storm clusters are known to start wildfires.

Current radar: Here is that active thunderstorm cluster moving north-northeast into the mountains west of Baker City. It has a history producing abundant lightning- capable of starting fires. Will continue to monitor. Red Flag Warnings remain posted near the Idaho border.

Forecast Update: Hey everyone! After more than two weeks without measurable rainfall, we'll see some this week. Drizzly weather is possible tomorrow morning- but frequent showers and a cooling trend will return for the weekend. Make your plans accordingly!

❄️ As those of us who have lived in Idaho for a while know, we can get snow any month of the year! Here's a look at our regional webcams this morning from Redfish Lake, Willow Creek/Gilmore Summits, & Pomerelle Mountain Resort. Enjoy the cooler temps/snow while it lasts! #idwx

What does our weather trend look like into our busy holiday week? Models are trending hotter for at least 4 days after this week's drizzly downturn. Premlinary trends suggest early next week looks warmest for OR/WA (in general). Camping or boating? The heat is on! (until Wed)
