Polkadot migrated all its ~2.2 million storage items to a new format yesterday and nobody even noticed 😳

It took 969 blocks, while reaching its configured max speed of 4800 Items/Block for a good chunk of it.
Next we can proceed with the Parachains 🚀

We’re stuck in an inadequate equilibria of short-term narratives.

Let’s explore possibilities beyond the current discourse and beyond layers.

It all starts with blockspace.

Bastian Köcher Hang | h4x3rotab.eth ₱ 🌱 Thibaut Sardan IMO computation on the relay chain should be a market good and allowed to be used for whatever is desired.

If people want to pay to do computation on the relay chain, it's probably worth it to them for some reason. You can save costs by spinning out chains later.

The 'pure'…

Data Availability has been a successful meme because it presents as unthreatening, so ETH et al don't close ranks against it. The Trojan Horse is that major DA layers are angling to control transaction ordering, not just DA.

This could be a shift in how we look at blockchains.
We currently see blockchains capturing value with fees. This incentivizes excess computation and does not align with scalability.

An alternative paradigm: zero fees, but blockchains capture value by charging a fee on…

In an article recently published by asynchronous rob, he discusses a critical aspect of crypto, analyzing the present types of blockchain coprocessors, and what to expect of them in the future.

What are coprocessors and what does any of this mean?

interesting - network costs contribute quite substantially to AI compute cluster costs.

slightly buried takeaway here is this: even if someone made a chip as performant as NVidia's and sold at NVidia's cost of production, the savings are not so extreme.

Well written article. One point that i believe is very overlooked in this debate, is the decentralized nature of crypto-economic coprocessors.

ZK coprocessors are inherently centralized and this can have adverse consequences such as censorship. On the other hand,…

How should we think about the market for coprocessors and the differences between cryptographic (ZK) and cryptoeconomic coprocessors like Polkadot cores?

I go into this in my latest article.

I hope the UNI news will mark the beginning of the end for 'tokenomics': mental gymnastics to avoid committing crimes (allowing non-millionaires to invest in and earn dividends from protocol revenues)
