This week, we were honoured to have the Ambassador of the 🇳🇱 to 🇳🇬, Mr. Wouter Willem, alongside delegations from Germany in Nigeria & EU in Nigeria 🇪🇺🇳🇬, in Borno State. Their mission began with a visit to Hajj Camp in Maiduguri to learn about our reintegration efforts in the region.

As part of the United Nations Peacebuilding and Peace Support fund project in Borno State, government officials received training in planning & implementing of community-based peacebuilding initiatives.  This activity is part of the  joint United Nations Nigeria support to the implementation of the Borno Model.

To remain relevant as a strategic tool, DDR must remain adaptive to the evolving nature of global conflicts to enhance the prospects for sustainable peace while contributing to rebuilding trust in institutions, preventing cycles of violence in fragile and conflict-affected areas.
