Vermont may be inland now, but once we were part of a prehistoric ocean! If these 1950s #MtPhilo Vermont State Parks tourists had visited some thousands of years earlier, this view would have been part of the Champlain Sea #ArchivesUnderTheSea #ArchivesHashtagParty
Stand aside, Nessie! Lake Champlain has it's own legendary underwater beast. We're so proud of our local monster that it has its own baseball team Vermont Lake Monsters and in 1982 the VT House officially recognized and protected Champ! #ArchivesUnderTheSea #ArchivesHashtagParty
The Freighthouse Market & Cafe in Lyndonville was one of only 25 recipients of the Historic Small Restaurants grant in 2023 ($40K!), presented by Saving Places and American Express. A favorite stop when roving in the NEK. Congratulations! #HistoricPreservation Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development

Today we say farewell and THANKS to VHRP Roving Archivist Sally Blanchard-O'Brien. We are so glad she will still be a part of the archival community in Vermont and wish her well in her new position at UVM_Libraries processing the records of Sen. Patrick Leahy!
There is no better place to be than a lodge by a Vermont lake on a steamy day like today! The Lowell Lake Lodge property was acquired by the Dept. of Forests, Parks & Recreation in 1977 & is now the Lowell Lake State Park. Vermont State Parks #ArchivesHashtagParty #ArchivesVacay
