Gold Diggers of '49, 1935 - ★★★ Tex Avery's first cartoon as director and an early appearance of Porky Pig, who is much fatter than before. While not as crazy as Avery's later films it shows more energy and humour than a lot of the earlier Warner Bros cartoons.

Page Miss Glory, 1936 - ★★★½ Really impressed by the modern art-deco styled animation in this short, the whole thing looks amazing.

The Blow Out, 1936 - ★★★½ I think of the earliest of the Tex Avery cartoons I have been watching recently this one shows more of his absurd and rapid style of humour and action starting to emerge. The villain in this one is outstanding too.

I'd Love to Take Orders from You, 1936 - ★★★ Cute cartoon with some beautiful art & animation. It doesn't show any of the crazed, energetic style we associate with Tex Avery and it's rarely funny, but it looks great and I like the character designs.

Don't Look Now, 1936 - ★★★ That devil baby was a real jerk, eh? I can't believe they remade this starring Donald Sutherland.

Milk and Money, 1936 - ★★★ Similar to the previous Avery "Porky Pig" shorts in that it slowly builds to a fast-paced finale with rapid cartoon gags. Not bad, some interesting animation.
