🎉 Huge announcement incoming 🎉 I am so excited to announce the release of something I've been working on for a couple months now. I have created a free toolkit called "So You Want To Build A Museum". Download the free toolkit here: floschechter.com/sywtbam 🧵

Must watch on House of Commons reform Ellie Chowns Dr Ellie Chowns, "As a newly elected member, I'd like to offer observations on three elements on how this house operates: sitting, speaking and voting" ➡️ Sitting - Chamber is too small - In Council and in European parliament

You probably know the start of this Olympic story, but do you know how it finished? This photo is of Eric Moussambani, aka 'Eric the Eel' from Equatorial Guinea, competing in the 100m Freestyle event at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, alone. Why? /1

Can't believe I didn't know Folkestone holds an annual Kate Bush day where thousands of women convene on the harbour to dance to Wuthering Heights together

80% reduction just by introducing a 5p fee. Now what about all those plastic water bottles? Number of plastic bags found on UK beaches down 80% since charge introduced theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Just wanted to share quickly how lovely yesterday felt in Southport; a total contrast to the night before. 🧵 The mosque and people’s garden walls were rebuilt by builders and bricklayers volunteering their time and labour:

You see this, this is what happens in real life. The bots can't show up on the streets. On the right there (yeah the far right) are the 6 nazis who turned up to cause mayhem. Everyone else is there to stop them. This is England.

This is Buddo. The earliest depiction of a human figure found anywhere in the British Isles. It is made out of whale bone and can be found in the Stromness Museum on Orkney. At 4,900 years old it comes from a time when mammoths still walked the Earth 🦣 . #neolithic #Orkney

I have a theory about why the Sydney Metro has been creating such a moment in the Discourse. Australia has always been in a state of transition, between where we are, and where we're going. Sydney Metro is a glimpse into that future - and how it could be could be very good.

Memes work. Earlier this year, NY Public Library launched a meme campaign to get library funding restored. It was a success, with people attributing the restoration of over $58M to the social team's strategy. I chatted with NYPL’s social manager about it, here’s what I learned:

I'll take this one. A Black Barbershop is actually a church> It is also a political headquarters It is a secret hideout and gathering spot. The Black barbershop is 1 of the most important, most revolutionary institutions in Black history. A (relatively short) thread.

Lovely idea from WRAP: add the day of the week on “use-by” dates on food According to Rory Sutherland : "Use by July 8” means nothing to me. Use by “Monday, July 8th” means “Oh, we’ve got the weekend to eat that”. From excellent Ogilvy Consulting Annual report
