Catching up on reading & really pleased to see the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) & Wikimedia UK new 'changemakers' toolkit'. It's such an accessible set of resources - I'd really recommend folks that are new to or still developing their campaigning experience to have a 👀
🎙️The Public Order Act and its impact on the right to protest Great explainer here from Community Policy Forum featuring Liberty's own @jodietbeck Listen below 👇👇👇
Hey AirTanker, long time no see. 2 years ago you told us you wouldn’t fly refugees to Rwanda on behalf of the UK government ... now you're not answering our calls. So we're turning up the heat. Tell AirTanker: Don't profit from refugees' pain 👇 secure.freedomfromtorture.org/page/147528/ac…
Really pleased to be at the Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) launch of the latest edition of the Forum and the opportunity to meet with friends new and old.
Very impressive panel of Muslim women leaders at the launch of the Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) special issue #InspiringStories #BlessingsOfTheSisters.
The Government's cruel Rwanda Bill will now become law It rips human rights away from people who come to the UK hoping for safety for them and their loved ones With Freedom from Torture🧡 + Amnesty UK, we transformed Parliament to let everyone know about this crime against compassion
Speaking out = vital role for campaigning orgs. Freedom from Torture🧡 adopt a savvy 'don't be scared, be prepared' tactic. They took legal advice to make sure #StopTheFlights approach chimed with campaigning rules. Kudos to Sonya Sceats 🧡 for leading the way on the right to campaign 👊
As always the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) campaigner survey results provide interesting (and worrying) insight across sectors of what campaigners are facing.
Looking forward to watching the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) #SMKAwards2024 this evening. I find them so inspiriting and such an important moment to celebrate what people are achieving (all the more important when things feel so daunting and positive change seems so hard).
The fact that someone could go to jail for participation in a zoom call about a protest should be ringing alarm bells across the country. I'm glad to see that Michel Forst will be attending the trial and hope we'll see greater scrutiny of this.
