Men: The most impressive workout of the year. What you accomplished this morning was big-time! Outside in the dark and in the fog and rain. Your ability to communicate and work together as a TEAM was great to see! The strides that you have already made TOGETHER are obvious. PTO!

Men: Yesterday’s lift was brutal and you guys attacked with enthusiasm and got “one day better” Your open field skill days and Lineman University have been phenomenal. All of this makes a huge STATEMENT about what you want to accomplish this fall - CHAMPIONS! Enjoy the break. PTO

CHALLENGE: We need to quit making it easier for our kids. Making excuses for and enabling our kids is the worst and most long-lasting form of child abuse. To lower the bar of expectations so they can meet them only stunts growth and doesn’t allow them to meet their potential. PTO

Salem Football would like to acknowledge senior Ayden Patchin and his 215 lb EOWL CHAMPIONSHIP! For the good of TEAM scoring he gave up 30 pounds to wrestle up a class and score points. This weekend he earned his 100th victory and finished by dominating West Branch for the title.

Congratulations to the Salem wrestling team. They overcame an early 6-0 deficit and ran off 69 consecutive points to dominate West Branch - again. Nearly every Quaker wrestled up a class to try and get some work in against heavier competition. It is a new year - same result! PTO!

Salem Football would like to congratulate REESE DAVIDSON-CHUCK for being named EBC basketball PLAYER of the YEAR! To watch her progress through her career and become a dominant player has been a lot of fun and very inspiring. We are big fans and very proud of you. Great job PTO!

We have great respect for Walt DeShields as a father, teacher, coach and athlete. What happened to him is criminal and shameful. When people in charge have short-term selfish goals and can’t see the big TEAM picture - this is what happens. Wish nothing good for West Branch. PTO!

A Duke alum, Jay Bilas, just paid Houston basketball THE greatest compliment that any coach could ever ask for. He said, “Houston leads the country in PLAYING HARD.” There is nothing better than that! EFFORT results from trust, love and belief. What more could a coach want? PTO!

Great respect for Coach Josh Heupel and Tennessee Volunteer Football! Cutting loose QB Nico Iamaleava will only make them better. Guys that are only looking out for themselves ($$) are not CHAMPIONSHIP leaders. Bet the TEAM knew what this guy was about before the coaches did. PTO

Salem Football would like to congratulate our girls track team on winning the District Championship. Led by Maggie Hopple with three titles and a runner up finish. Congratulations to conference foe, Marlington sophomore Cameron Evanich who won the 100-200-400 and long jump. PTO!

Congratulations and thank you to J.J. Spaun for winning the U.S. Open and displaying the greatest lesson in perseverance. It is not how great you start in the 1st or how well you play in the 2nd and 3rd, but how you finish! He battled through the tough breaks in the 4th and WON!

Salem Quaker Football lost a great friend in Frank “Digger” Dawson. We would like to send our condolences to his family and the entire East Liverpool community. He was an ardent Potter fan, but treated everyone - even their biggest rivals - with incredible dignity and class. RIP
