Got a little elevation for tonight’s performance of Salome Teatro Municipal de Santiago the final event on the trip and a closing of the ring, as it were, since I also saw Salome the first week of the trip in Buenos Aires. All artists new to me. Tx3 to all!

Very enjoyable performance of Salome Teatro Municipal de Santiago last night. Musically solid and well paced. Occasionally Salome couldn’t quite push through the Straussian racket, but a minor detail. A great way to end my trip.

I was a bit too early in the season for the Jacarandas in Buenos Aires, but three weeks later in Santiago they are in full bloom. Beautiful and aromatic. 🥰

I return from Southern Hemisphere spring to find Bryant Park Winter Village in full swing, including a fully trimmed Christmas tree 2 days before Thanksgiving. How quickly things return to “normal”. Home less than 48 hours and I’m off to the dentist. 🤣🙄😜

Tonight my return to the big house Metropolitan Opera just in time to catch Arabella, which has only 1 more performance after tonight. Have only seen it once before, in the last Met run in 2014, so really looking forward to it. Tx3 to all!

Up tonight, this interesting program of 20th century or later works, all unknown to me except for the last. You can always turn up the volume on the Respighi, and then turn it up some more, especially for I Pini della via Appia. 🥰🥰🥰 New York Philharmonic
