FIELDWORK AHOY! We've at last been out in the field, getting ready for the dig in September and more geophysics. We're so excited to be gathering the gang together again (the cows were pretty enthusiastic too). Classics@Cambridge Cambridge Archaeology
Our lovely finds illustrator Vicki Herring has been up at the museum today! Sheโs been drawing a few of the many examples of fine Roman glass from the site, that were catalogued and researched by the late Jenny Price, who is much missed. Classics@Cambridge Cambridge Archaeology
It's taken a while, but the new interpretation panels are up at the English Heritage Aldborough museum site!! We've really enjoyed collaborating with EH to get these in. We hope they make a difference on your next visit! Classics@Cambridge Cambridge Archaeology
Itโs been SO LOVELY being back on site! Thanks to all the energetic volunteers who came to take the turf off, and to 6 Regiment RLC for their amazing cheery help with site tents (and snacks)! The turf wall is a sight to behold! Classics@Cambridge Cambridge Archaeology
It was great to see so many people at the excavation open day yesterday! Thanks to our amazing Classics@Cambridge students who did such a wonderful job showing visitors the finds. One more week to go now-we're finishing off just as autumn gathers pace. Classics@Cambridge Cambridge Archaeology

We had the amazing Dr Sophie Hay come to speak to the Friends of Roman Aldborough! A fantastic exploration of people and life in Pompeii. Great to be back to in person talks, see many of our dig team, and eat the famous tiffin! We enjoyed a good walk around the site afterwards too.
Great to see over 90 people for our tour of Roman Aldborough yesterday afternoon! Even the cows enjoyed the view from the amphitheatre out across the Vale of York! Classics@Cambridge Cambridge Archaeology #Archaeology
