I have renewed admiration for Bill Gurley . Pretty much 10+ years ahead on a variety of topics ranging from online advertising to mobile e-commerce and saas models, wow! Thanks Brandon Baylo for the summary of Bill's views over the years . macro-ops.com/the-bill-gurle…

I had never heard of Gwynne Shotwell, COO of Space X, but wow, she's awesome! Key takeaways: 1) Take risks in love and business; 2) Design a industrial process for starship that produce at scale like a car company 🤯 youtube.com/watch?v=1b-vAe…

Having survived two previous market resets (2001, 2009), people frequently ask me how this 2022 market reset is different and how it is the same. The obvious similarity is that valuation multiples have collapsed. We went from a "glass very full" mindset to one with many concerns.

I’ve been in crypto for… a while. Feels like the worst day yet. I know many are hurting. So my DMs are open again. If you‘re losing hope and have no one to talk to, please shoot me a message. I’ll try to reply soon. Don’t ask me for money, but know you’re not alone.

Excellent introduction to crypto by Matt Levine. It's a bit long, but absolutely worth the read for anyone that want to understand crypto w/o spending 10's of hours researching. bloomberg.com/features/2022-…

Wow, i don't see how mass adoption can happen given the hoops one has to through to keep their funds secure. It's probably the biggest hurdle to adoption.... binance.com/en/blog/from-c…

Why did René Magritte paint a man with his face hidden by an apple in 1946? And why did he call it The Son of Man? Welcome to the uncanny world of Surrealism...

Countries, like the US, that have had high money growth have high inflation. In contrast, Switzerland, China, & Japan have had low money growth, and have had relatively low inflation (3.3%, 2.1%, 4.3% YoY respectively). Inflation is ALWAYS & EVERYWHERE a monetary phenomenon.

Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany is one of the world's most famous and beautiful castles. But it isn't a real castle: it has central heating, hot water, flushing toilets, telephones, and elevators. Because Neuschwanstein is actually the world's biggest work of fan fiction...

I don't get why there is rise in anti driverless cars in SF among elected officials. Clearly there are questions and issues that need to be addressed and regulated. But banning self-driving cars sounds like the worst possible decision. youtube.com/watch?v=rjgUPU…

This might sound crazy - it is not crazy. Lee Kuan Yew talks at great length throughout his memoirs on building Singapore about trees specifically, trees *as such*, being harbingers and indicators and inspirers of great things:
