The DC Police Union regrets to announce the passing of past DC FOP State Lodge President Lou Cannon. Lou retired as a sergeant from MPD. He devoted countless hours to the betterment of policing in the city as an elected official of the FOP at both the state and national level.

We need to understand the safety of our community isn’t only in the hands of police and laws on the books. We all must play a role and take responsibility. As a community, we must learn to police ourselves and keep the peace within our own homes, neighborhoods and public spaces.
